Grand Haven Musical Fountain and Jeanneke Pis
Music in Motion: Grand Haven Musical Source
Grand Haven Musical Fountain is located in Grand Haven, Michigan. The source shows a magnificent fusion of water, music and lights that come together in a fantastic show. It is in between Dewey Hill and the north coast of Great River, where Lake Michigan State enters the Grand Haven Park. When it was built in the 1960s, the fountain was bigger "Music Land" source and continues to this day one of the largest musical and light sources in the world. Grand Haven Musical Fountain is approximately 250 feet long and over 100 feet wide. Its rectangular basin carries 40,000 gallons of water and has a depth of 12 inches. The large fountain has 1,300 jets in a variety of diameters which spout water into vibrant movement patterns.
Grand Haven Musical Fountain was made in 1962 by volunteers who feels that the beautiful city of Grand Haven was lacking a focal point and needed a monument of the city. The point of construction to revitalize the downtown Grand Haven, and its coastline. The price was just under a quarter million dollars.
Through the various summer months, the source shows have different themes and styles that constantly excite and inspire the crowd. Music ranges from classical jazz to rock and roll, bringing a unique mix of customers. The Grant Haven Musical Fountain also has a special demonstration sessions July has been joined by fireworks. This show has always proven to be a favorite.
Grand Haven Musical Fountain is only active in the summer. It is open during the colder months due to cold temperatures. During the months between May and September, there are source and shows every night during weekends. The show typically starts around sunset and lasts 20 minutes. Although the source is shown to only 20 to 25 minutes, There are over 3,000 changes in water movement and light. The operation of the source is exclusively operated by computer software which takes an hour of programming time for each minute of the show.
Touring Michigan in the summer months offers a wide variety of activities for families, couples and single persons is not limited to the unforgettable images, sounds and lights of the Grand Haven Musical Fountain.
The Jeanneke Pis: Modern Art in Brussels
Jeanneke Pis Fountain is located in Brussels, Belgium. The fountain depicts a girl wearing pigtails, squatting while humorously relieving herself. Lies on his feet and seems very taken with the time. The Jeanneke Pis Fountain, like Manneken Pis, appropriately exhibits a universal human experience, which never fails to entertain your visitors and humor. It was created in 1985 by Denis Adrien Debouvire and is much more contemporary than its source brother, the Manneken Pis. Jeanneke is an accompanying garden statue to the Manneken Pis Fountain, which is the Belgium's national monument. The primary Manneken Pis Fountain was constructed in 1142, but there have been several adaptations since.
Jeanneke Pis Fountain is very small, representing just over five feet tall and stands at the bottom of a blind alley in the district of Brussels Rue des Bouchers. Butcher's street, or Bouchers, is famous for the variety of European beers and wines available that you can taste. In total there are about 2,000 different varieties of beer, wine and vintage spirits served in the areas near the source.
No one knows why he built the Jeanneke Debouvire Pis Fountain. When questioned, he replied only: "loyalty" and refused further comment. Debouvire's refusal to elaborate created an immediate legend Jeanneke Pis and became a visit must for tourists and locals. Many hypothesis that Jeanneke Pis Fountain was made to attract more tourists to the street near Butcher, who did. But others say with a smile that Jeanneke is the result of and pays tribute to women's liberation movement. Today, Butcher Street and the Trevi Jeanneke Pis are two of the most Brussel more local visits only to the Manneken Pis.
Even after two decades, however, the Source of Jeanneke Pis has not been accepted by the city of Brussels. The Belgium government deliberately leaves out the official tour guide. Despite prompting Jeanneke design, The outdoor fountain is definitely unique and has not yet been replicated elsewhere. One can, however, find her image on postcards and a variety of items souvenirs sold throughout the city. Jeanneke Pis Fountain is a demonstration of the Brussels European relaxed attitude-one of which receives clients from around the world with open arms and a kind smile.
